    Being Organised For A Holiday

Lots of us book our holidays well in advance. Even our summer holidays are often booked months in advance. Despite this many of us leave it until the last minute to do packing etc. This means we end up frazzled, stressed and probably packing the wrong items. When you book a holiday mark on your calendar 4 weeks before the holiday and then that way you can start getting organized in advance.

4 weeks until holiday you need to check you all have the right clothes etc to take with you. Ensure you know where everyone’s pass ports are. Check flight times etc and see if you need a hire car or anything either end. Check details of transfer to hotel etc.

3 weeks until holiday you need to make sure you have arrangements for any pets and family members left behind. Have you sorted out how you are getting to the airport?

2 weeks until holiday start packing items in your suitcase as the come out of the wash. Make a list of the things you want to pack and tick them off as and when you pack them. If you are taking money with you, take it to the travel agents to get changed into the correct currency.

1 week until holiday make sure you have all the tickets, confirmation etc printed out. Put these all together in a folder etc so they are together, with your passports.

By this time you are 7 days away from your holiday but you should have most of the potential problems sorted out – you are packed, have all the documents you need & your spending money arrange.

    Packing For A Holiday

Of course the length of time that you are on holiday will affect the amount of clothes and items that you need to pack to take with you. However for a standard, two week holiday in the sun many of us end up packing too much. This can mean extra charge at the airport for excess luggage or even just extra hassle when traveling around. The reason many of us pack too much is that we automatically assume that for a 2 week holiday we need 14 day time out fits, 14 night time outfits and some beach wear. However truth is that on a summer beach holiday most of the time we will spend it on the beach. This means that for a majority of the time you probably live in your bikini, a pair of shorts and some flip flops. Even allowing for some days wearing more you have cut down from 14 day timeout fits and some beach wear to some bikinis, a few shorts and a couple of t shirts. The likely hood is as well that you will have some chilled out evening’s, maybe a few drinks on the balcony or a stroll on the beach. You don’t need to get dressed up to the nines to do that! Even if you do go out most nights you will always have your favourite jeans or skirt etc and probably wear those more than once. Mixing and matching a few key items is much easier than packing 14 different outfits. Don’t forget that the fewer clothes you take with you, the more room you have in your suitcase to bring things back ;)

How To Have A Holiday An Adult Can Enjoy With The Whole Family

If you have children then of course you want to make sure that you have a holiday that they can remember & enjoy. However this shouldn’t be at the sacrifice of some adult fun too. There are loads of ways that you can make sure everyone enjoys the holiday as much as everyone else.

For a start why not try and get together with friends that have children of a similar age and holiday together. This is ideal for many reasons. Firstly of course when the children are playing they will be happy to have others to play with. This means that they are less likely to need your attention and you can relax a bit whilst they entertain each other. Also through out the holiday the adults can nominate one or two nights each. These nights are so that the couple can go out and have a good time, with the other adults looking after both sets of children. You can even do it where it is the babysitting parent’s responsibility to sort breakfast so that you get a lie in. Swap this over and both sets of parents get at least one night to relax and have some fun.

There are also plenty of things that both adults and children can enjoy so keep an eye out for any excursions etc that your hotel arrange. Even trips to shopping malls, markets and other towns can be fun enough to keep everyone happy and entertained. The beach is also an ideal place for people of all ages to enjoy their selves.

    Choosing The Right Holiday

It doesn’t matter whether you are planning a few weeks away or just a weekend break you want to make sure that the holiday runs smoothly. Part of this is making sure that everyone who goes has a good time. When you sit down to decide on what holiday you are going to take you need to consider the ages and likes of people that are going. Often this is hard with a family because ages vary. A holiday on a complex is great for this because they usually have kids clubs, pools and other kid’s entertainment as well as things for the adults to enjoy. However if you are going away with a group of 18 year olds then you probably just want somewhere closer to town & other entertainment. Do your research when you decide what type of holiday you want before you decide where exactly you are going to stay. Try and read reviews etc of the hotel you are going to be staying at see what people’s general opinions are of it.

Food is a big consideration because choosing a holiday where you won’t eat the food can make it miserable. Children particularly need to be catered for because they are less likely to ‘make do’ and just eat what is on offer. See if the hotel you are going to be staying at offers English food, or try and see what restaurants are local that you can eat at.

Basically bear in mind the needs of everyone so that you can all enjoy the holiday as much as possible.
